Vandy Wood
Visual Artist | Theatrical Designer
Vandy is a visual artist and theatrical designer. She has been a faculty member in
the theatre department at the University of Central Florida since 2003, where she
teaches design and coordinates the Theatre for Young Audiences graduate program.
Her recent creative activities include designs for Theatre UCF, Orlando Repertory
Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Fifth Wall Productions, James Madison University,
and Triad Stage.
Vandy also directs and designs national and international touring productions for Ibex Puppetry. She co-edited Playing with Theory in Theatre Practice published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2012 and designed the set for Jane Henson's Nativity for a CBS special entitled A New York Christmas To Remember, which aired in December 2013 in the United States and in 2016 in Canada. Vandy was a Drama Desk Awards nominee for Outstanding Puppet Design in 2018.
