Students,

Thank you for a wonderful audition yesterday – truly inspiring to watch all of you perform! It makes me so happy to see such talent in our program! With that said, below is the casting for Fall Dance Festival. Here are some important reminders:

  • If you are cast in a work that does not fit into your schedule, please email me immediately so arrangements can be made.
  • If you are cast only as an understudy, you have the option to stay in the work with the possibility of being moved into the cast if the choreographer so decides (this happens often and is certainly a possibility during the pandemic). You also have the option to not participate in the production if you do not need the DAN 1100 credit or are a nonmajor. If you chose to not participate as an understudy and are enrolled in DAN 1100, you will need to drop the course immediately. If you plan to drop from a work, please email me immediately to let me know.
  • If you are not cast in any works, we thank you for your audition and unfortunately aren't able to cast you at this time. Please note that your availability have prohibited you from being cast.
  • Rehearsals begin this Tuesday, September 5th. There will be no rehearsals on Monday, September 4th (Labor Day). Please contact your choreographer via email or phone if you will be late or cannot attend your rehearsal. Your choreographers will be reaching out to you very soon!
  • A mid-process showing will be held on Friday, October 6th from 3-5pm in CMS 101.
  • A final showing for crew and designer will be held on Friday, November 3rd from 3-5pm in CMS 101.
  • If you need an excuse note for any class/work/sorority/fraternity events that conflict with rehearsals or video shoots, please email at least 48 hours before the note is needed.
  • We have requested CMS card access for those who are cast in Fall Dance Festival for weekend rehearsals, which may take a few days to be approved. For all rehearsals, you will need to swipe your Tech ID card in order to access the building after 10pm and weekends (card reader on the right side of the double glass doors). Choreographers will try to be available to let you into the building until your card is granted access, but please be sure to have it with you in order to get access to the building afterhours.

If you have any questions about the course, production, rehearsals or audition, please feel free to set up an appointment with me to discuss. Announcements about casting for DanceTech will be emailed out in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions about the audition or casting process, please let me know.
