Andrew “Drew” Brown

Biography

Drew has three advanced degrees, the most recent a Ph.D. in Public Relations from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (2021). 

Research interests include nonprofit social issue management, social entrepreneurism and community resilience, media ecology, creative and online pedagogy, and a lifelong interest in rural Appalachian culture. Drew regularly does applied consulting with nonprofit organizations in fundraising, social media marketing, event planning, and issues/crisis management. He is also an active board member with two nonprofit organizations.

Before coming to Texas Tech, Drew had an early career in nonprofit public relations, nonprofit fundraising, and nonprofit executive management. He then continued his career at a private liberal arts college and a regional public university in various teaching, administrative, and outreach capacities.
