Lara Mandrell

Biography

Lara Mandrell, M.A., is an instructor of professional communication and the director of PCOM's business communication program. With a master's degree in technical communication and almost 20 years of teaching experience, Prof. Mandrell primarily teaches business communication, introducing students to managerial communication concepts and offering practice through workplace simulations. Since 2015, she has employed her training in instructional design, usability, and accessibility to deliver her courses exclusively online.

Prof. Mandrell is also an instructor at TTU's Highland Lakes campus (Marble Falls, TX) in its Local Government Leadership Certificate Program, which equips current and emerging local government employees with knowledge and skills needed to successfully lead their organizations and serve their communities.

In addition to teaching, Prof. Mandrell is a digital faculty consultant for McGraw-Hill Education, helping peers across the country to effectively employ digital teaching tools and, as a result, improve student learning outcomes. She is also a freelance copyeditor.
