Minhee Choi

Biography

Minhee Choi, Ph.D. is an advocacy communicator. Originally from South Korea, she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Sogang University. After working internationally in nonprofit public relations with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and the Korea University Business School, she moved to the United States and earned her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on probing the effects of advocacy messages and communication strategies related to important public health issues. She has won multiple research and teaching awards from national and international conferences, such as the International Communications Association (ICA) conference and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). Before joining CoMC, she was an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. As a first-generation student herself, she is devoted to advising first-generation students.
