Biography
Mary Norman received her B.A. in Speech Communication and her M.A. in Communication
Studies with an emphasis in Interpersonal Communication from Baylor University. She
was a Lecturer at Baylor University and then was an entrepreneur running her own gift
store. She earned her Ph.D. in Media and Communication from Texas Tech in 2018. Her
research interests include effects of gendered programming on children and gender
representations in the media. She has taught courses in Communication Studies, Advertising,
and Public Relations. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family, travel, cooking,
and antiquing.
