Graduate Certificate in Charitable Financial Planning

The Graduate Certificate in Charitable Financial Planning is targeted towards working professionals in the fields of financial advising or fundraising. The certificate is intended for those who wish to develop a specialty in the area of planned giving, including complex techniques involving private foundations, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, donor advised funds, life insurance, and remainder interests. Students will also review and discuss the latest academic research on charitable giving motivations and fundraising strategies. The certificate requiresthe completion of four courses: PFP 5325, 5326, 5327, and 5398.

Graduate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning

The Graduate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning requires a minimum of 18 hours. Students may choose 6 courses from the list below to complete the required course work for the Graduate Certificate. Courses are available in the areas of financial planning, asset management, insurance and risk management, retirement, tax, client communications, and estate planning for the certificate from Texas Tech University.

For students wishing to complete the requirements to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination and who have no previous coursework in these areas, 28 hours will be required to meet the educational requirements of CFP Board.
