PFP Student Organizations

Texas Tech Personal Financial Planning students are encouraged to join student organizations within the department. These student organizations allow students to network with each other and hear from industry leaders.

Personal Financial Planning Association

PFPA is a student organization in the Personal Financial Planning department that promotes social interactions and fosters professional development for Personal Financial Planning students by providing opportunities for networking, mentoring, and by presenting valuable resources. Their monthly meetings, which range from the State of Department to What Not to Wear, have regularly attracted an average of fifty students. They are also able to provide students with travel reimbursement to encourage attendance at industry events and conferences.

Personal Financial Planning Ambassadors

The Personal Financial Planning Ambassadors are a group of students who help within many areas of the PFP department. These areas include: assisting faculty and staff with department events such as Opportunity Days, recruiting prospective students from on and off campus, and looking for improvements to the major so that students will benefit as much as possible. PFP Ambassadors are responsible for developing a "boot camp" for PFP students to help with mock interviews, resumes, and professional development.
