2022 Virtual Program Expansion

This year the Texas Tech University K-12 Global Education Outreach (GEO) was awarded a grant from Humanities Texas to expand their award winning virtual program options.  This initiative was started during the early months of the pandemic to help teachers provide virtual resources for their classroom and students however, the demand and success of the virtual programs continued and are now used in over 60 campus throughout West Texas.  With currently eight virtual program from which to pick from, the grant will provide funding to create an additional two virtual programs.   K-12 GEO will be creating virtual programs for two of their most popular programs, India: Diwali and Africa: Drums – The Rhythm of Life.

Teachers have come to depend on K-12 GEO to help bring the world to their students and communities, and as one teacher commented,

“These programs have everything we need! You cover all of the Texas Standards (TEKS), the program is designed perfectly for the age groups, the activates and crafts are engaging, and the students have an enjoyable and educational learning experience that gets them excited about the world.”

Kelli Kemp, Lubbock ISD

We are excited to present these great programs to teachers all over the state of Texas and we look forward to adding more and more programs to best meet the needs of their students.
