Lubbock in the Loop offers a comprehensive event calendar featuring activities happening throughout Lubbock. Many events are free or low-cost and include options for students, families, and the broader community.

Visit Lubbock: provides an events calendar along with information on local restaurants, venues, attractions, and festivals. This is a helpful resource for exploring the city and planning weekends or visits from friends and family.

On-Campus Engagement and Activities

TTU Athletics: Texas Tech has a strong sports culture and an active fan base among students, alumni, and the local community. Undergraduate students receive free access to on-campus sporting events, and graduate students may opt in. Attending a football game in the fall, basketball games during the winter, or baseball games in the spring is a popular way to experience campus life.

Student Activities Board: The Student Activities Board, part of Student Union and Activities, plans and hosts more than 60 free events each year exclusively for Texas Tech students. These events include concerts, movie nights, speakers and social activities.

International Cultural Center: There's much more that happens in this building beyond immigration advising! The International Cultural Center hosts a variety of community and campus events throughout the year that highlight global cultures. The building also features a rotating gallery showcasing photography and artwork from students, faculty, staff and local artists.

J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual and Performing Arts: The College of Visual and Performing Arts regularly hosts concerts, performances, exhibitions, and shows featuring work by students and faculty. Many events are free or offered at a discounted rate for Texas Tech students. Event information can be found at events.ttu.edu, in daily TechAnnounce emails, and in the weekly International Student Newsletter from ISL.

Student Union Building: The Student Union Building serves as a central gathering place on campus for studying, socializing, and attending events. It hosts many programs, meetings, and conferences throughout the year and is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors. The building also includes on-campus dining options, the Campus Bookstore for buying or renting textbooks, Starbucks, Prosperity Bank, mail services, study rooms, a movie theater, and a games area with billiards, darts, ping pong, foosball and board games.

 Texas Tech Recreation Building: The Student Recreation Center offers many ways for students to stay active, manage stress, and enjoy free time throughout the academic year. Facilities include a bike rental and repair shop, rock climbing wall, Olympic-size swimming pool, indoor running track, weight room, racquetball courts, basketball courts and outdoor fields for sports such as soccer and lacrosse. The center also supports intramural sports and offers a variety of fitness classes, including yoga, cycling, and personal training. An outdoor leisure pool with a 645-foot lazy river is available during warmer months. Equipment checkout is also offered for student use.
