Matthews Worede

Biography:

Matthews Worede is originally from Dallas Texas. He grew up playing sports competitively  including, Soccer Football & Track. He attended Texas Tech and graduated in the Fall of 2014 with a management and marketing degree. Currently he is in the last year of his master's program at UTD in the Jindal School of Management. 
 
After Tech he moved to Seattle and began working at Boeing in their business skills rotational program, where he rotated through different functions like Finance, Procurement, and Government Contracts. He then took a job at Oracle as a Solutions Engineer demoing their software platforms. Later he left Oracle to become a senior consultant at Grant Thornton, where he learned about SOX compliance. After his time at GT, he went back into Defense in a more senior role as a program manager. 
 
During Covid, he had time to reflect on what he really wanted to get out of life, so at 30 he pressed the reset button on his career and took an entry-level cold calling position in sales at a small data company called Confluent. he has now been promoted and currently is a commercial cloud Account Executive at Confluent!
