TTU proudly announces its first partnership with: IIT Bombay, India

Texas Tech University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). This follows another signing of a Letter of Intent between Texas Tech University and Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, earlier this year IIT Bombay is a prestigious public institution known for its engineering and research programs. IITB was established in 1958 and was the first institute of higher learning in India to receive foreign assistance from UNESCO for its establishment. It is located in Powai, Mumbai.

This is another opportunity for Texas Tech University to enhance collaborations with internationally recognized institutions of higher learning. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) was ranked 43 this year (2016) in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings.


IIT Bombay Campus

Some of the undergraduate engineering programs offered by IIT Bombay include aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, earth sciences, metallurgical engineering and material science. The institute offers several Master's and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). IITB also offers programs in humanities and social sciences. This newly established partnership between TTU and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is a result of Dr. Sukant Misra's, (Associate Vice Provost for International Programs) visit to India, accompanied by Dr. Mark Sheridan, Vice Provost for Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs & Dean of the Graduate School.
