The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business is proud to be part of "Best Value for the Money" in the annual nationwide ranking of U.S. colleges and universities by College Factual. The education services company ranks the Rawls College's Marketing Program as No. 1 in the state of Texas and No. 13 in the nation in its 2019 edition of rankings. This places Texas Tech's Marketing Program in the top 5 percent of all such programs in the country reviewed by College Factual for value.

College Factual's ranking is determined by a methodology that considers schools according to their educational quality and cost of attendance. College Factual takes into account the average yearly cost of the school, the average time students take to graduate, and the quality the school provides to students.

Texas Tech improved its state ranking, moving from the No. 2 spot in 2018 to the No. 1 spot in 2019.

"This ranking reflects the commitment and the continued efforts of the marketing faculty in developing our students into competent marketers that are career-ready," said Sreedhar Madhavaram, Marketing and Supply Chain Management area coordinator.

Marketing majors in Rawls College take coursework in consumer behavior, digital marketing, international marketing, service marketing, market research, marketing strategy, and sales to prepare them for careers in sales, product/brand management and other marketing fields.

"I love the marketing program because I know I am getting my money's worth," said Kyndall Weisinger, a senior marketing major at Rawls College. "I have had internship positions where I have been able to actually apply what I am learning in the classroom directly to the real world."

Weisinger, who is set to graduate in May, believes the marketing faculty members were particularly helpful in preparing her for her career.

"The professors go above and beyond to help you. I have always found that they go the extra mile to make sure you understand the material and are prepared," she said.

According to data from the Rawls Career Management Center, 90.4 percent of spring 2018 marketing graduates found a full-time job within 90 days of graduation. Survey respondents boasted an average salary of $48,018. College Factual data shows that Rawls College graduates earn 6.2 percent more than the standard marketing graduate.
