About
Gary Fleischman is a professor in the School of Accounting at the Rawls College of
Business at Texas Tech University. For five years, he has served as the co-advisor
for the Accounting PhD program at TTU, while serving as the Rawls College PhD coordinator.
Fleischman initially taught for five years at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
(1995 - 2000) and 13 years at the University of Wyoming (2000 - 2013) before returning
to teach at Texas Tech in 2013. All told, when including classes taught while a graduate
student, Fleischman is now in his 32nd year of teaching at the college level. During
his career, Fleischman has received 27 teaching / research awards, with two of those
coming after arriving at Texas Tech.
Fleischman's scholarship addresses a broad audience, including accounting, taxation and general business ethics. Fleischman is on the review board for the Journal of Business Ethics, which is a Financial Times Top 50 journal in business, as well as Issues in Accounting Education. Fleischman's research is associated with 2,700 citations according to Google Scholar. Fleischman has 16 publications in Financial Times Top 50 journals. Overall, he has published in journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management Accounting Research and Human Resource Management.
