About
Jason Schwebke is an assistant professor of accounting in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. Dr. Schwebke earned a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Central Florida. He earned a master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s in finance from Northern Illinois University. Prior to pursuing a Ph.D., Dr. Schwebke held positions in insurance and investments, operations, and management. He has also served as an expert accounting witness in U.S. District Court. Dr. Schwebke is an enrolled agent (EA), an IRS-granted tax practitioner credential.
His research interests primarily focus on taxation, particularly judgment and decision making related to taxes and tax policy and compliance issues. Dr. Schwebke's work has been published in the Journal of the American Taxation Association, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Issues in Accounting Education, and Journal of Accounting Education. His teaching interests include taxation and data analytics.
