About
Matthew Hart is an associate professor of practice of accounting in the Rawls College
of Business. Hart teaches both graduate and undergraduate auditing classes. Hart has
also taught financial accounting courses in the online and STEM MBA programs. Hart's
research interests include capital markets research related to voluntary disclosures
and earnings guidance; audit-related research focused on working in public accounting;
and accounting education research. Hart has published research in Issues in Accounting
Education, Advances in Accounting, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting and
Advances in Accounting Education.
Hart received a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting) from Arizona State University.
He also received MPAcc and BA degrees in accounting from Weber State University. Hart
worked as an auditor at Grant Thornton in Salt Lake City for four years and maintains
a current CPA license in the state of Utah.
