About

Himali Patil is an assistant professor of practice at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. She completed her PhD in business administration (supply chain management) at the University of North Texas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA in global logistics and supply chain management.

Before pursuing academia, Himali worked with industry for over six years in managerial roles across various operations and supply chain management functions at multinational corporations. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

Himali’s research is inspired by new and emerging technologies influencing supply chain structures. Her primary research investigates the role of additive manufacturing (3D Printing) in restructuring supply chains. She has published research in the International Journal of Operations and Production Management (IJOPM). She has presented her research at various academic and industrial conferences, such as CSCMP, DSI, POMS and ASCM CONNECT.

Himali’s teaching experience includes various courses in the logistics and supply chain management area. Himali believes that classroom learning should be extended to include opportunities for real-world experiences and hands-on learning. Her teaching philosophy focuses on developing discipline/field knowledge and related skills, a critical thinking mindset and a collaborative approach.
