Shannon McEntire, LMSW, grew up in central Texas and moved to Lubbock in 2017. She completed her undergraduate coursework at Abilene Christian University in Social Work in 2015 and received a master’s degree in social work in 2024 from Texas State University, after having practiced at a bachelor’s level for almost 10 years. Shannon has spent 8 years working with children and families involved with the child protective services system and spent 2 years as the Assistant Director for the Community Advocacy Project for Students (CAPS) at Texas Tech University. Shannon has a diverse skill set and has spent her career working with people of all ages who live with substance use disorders, experience that she brings to her current role as the Program Manager of Substance Use and Wellness with RISE.

Outside of work, Shannon loves to read and spend time outdoors with her family. You will often find her outside with her 3 children, 2 golden retrievers, and husband. Shannon aims to encourage others to find what healthy balance looks like for them and equip them with the knowledge to help them succeed in multiple areas of their lives.
