Texas Tech's School of Theatre and Dance offers both B.F.A and B.A. degrees in Dance and Theatre. Hear from some of our B.A. students about their unique educational experiences and how they plan to use this degree to integrate other interests, discover new passions, and achieve their professional goals.

Whether they choose to focus on one area of study (such as performance) or keep the scope of their education broad, the combination of hands-on experience and challenging classroom instruction will strengthen these students as artists and provide a solid foundation for their professional careers or further study at the graduate level.

B.A. Theatre (2025)

"I wanted to join the theatre program, but with freedom to explore the entire program--especially the technical side of it, which excites me. I believe that I am a more well-rounded artist because of it."

Ella Newey

B.A. Dance (2027)

"I like how the B.A. program offers the chance to add on a double major. I am a dual major in dance and psychology, and this program is helping me work towards my goal of becoming a dance movement therapist."

B.A. Theatre (2024)

"The B.A. program gave me the opportunity to expand my understanding of theatre as well as its application in the business world. This allowed me to run for and hold an executive officer position within my sorority as well as a corporate sales role in the IT industry following graduation."

Adam Harris

Adam Harris
B.A. Theatre (2025)

"The B.A. program gives a general look of theatre, which allows for greater exploration of fields and interests within theatre. I've benefited greatly because of this. I realized that I enjoy the technical aspects of theatre more than acting and discovered I love playwriting and dramaturgy. If I'd chosen only one concentration, I wouldn't have figured that out.  I've also had the opportunity to apply my other interests, such as poetry, history, drawing, song writing, and so much more to theatre making."

Angelica Waller
B.A. Dance (2027)

"The most challenging part is the classes themselves…the faculty here push us to be the best versions of ourselves and I love it!"

"Frontier Fest is one of the best events for BA students. It allows them to become involved in many aspects in a low stakes capacity that allows them to explore. I have had the opportunity to participate in Frontier Fest for the past three years. I have directed a ten-minute play, I have written a ten-minute play that was performed, I have been an assistant director on a full-length play, and I have been an actor in a ten-minute play.  I really loved performing in this year's Frontier Fest. It had been years since I had been on a stage, and I found it incredibly exhilarating!"
