A 19th-century barber embarks on a murderous rampage in Sweeney Todd, the tasty musical thriller from creators Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler. Bent on revenge, Sweeney Todd returns to London, renting a room over Mrs. Lovett, the proprietress of a struggling pie shop. Realizing Todds thirst for blood extends beyond the judge who framed him, Mrs. Lovett seizes the opportunity to use his unfortunate victims as special ingredients, transforming her pies from inedible to delectable.
In collaboration with the Texas Tech School of Musics Opera Theatre and University Symphony Orchestra, Sweeney Todd is sure to simultaneously shock, awe, and delight audiences with some of the most chilling music ever written for the stage.
Sweeney Todd is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
