2010 Outstanding Alumni

A resident of New York City, Linda Francis Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising from Texas Tech University in 1981.

Lee is the author of 19 novels that are published in 16 countries around the world in languages as diverse as Japanese and Russian. Her books have been nominated for the prestigious RITA award and have made the Best Book of the Year lists by booksellers and readers.

Two of her most recent novels are in development for feature films, including “The Devil in the Junior League,” which has been optioned by Universal Studios with Jennifer Garner signed on to produce and star.

Lee is in the process of developing a television series set in Texas with producer Jonathan Prince. Lee's next novel is a large work of fiction about the redemption of man and will be released in 2011.

When Lee is not writing, she is heavily involved in volunteer work with such organizations as Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and St. Thomas Church on Fifth Avenue.

While she was at Texas Tech, she served as vice president of Junior Pan-Hellenic. After graduating, she did volunteer work for the Junior League and was named an Extraordinary Volunteer in San Antonio, Texas.
