Biography
Don Shin is an ICA Fellow (International Communication Association Fellow) and has been recognized in a global research database as one of the Worlds Top 2% Scientists. His research focuses on AI–human interaction, with expertise in social media analytics, user modeling, and misinformation. He previously held the Samsung Endowed Chair and was the founding chair of the Department of Interaction Science at Sungkyunkwan University, where he established interdisciplinary research in interactive communication and emerging technologies. As Director of the Interaction Science Research Center, he led major national research initiatives, serving as Principal Investigator for the BK21 Plus and WCU programs, both funded by Koreas Ministry of Education. His work continues to advance knowledge on AI-mediated communication and its broader societal and ethical implications.Research Areas
