Biography
Oluwabusayo Okunloye (Sayo) is a Ph.D. student at Texas Tech University College of Media & Communication. She got her Masters's from Texas Tech University and her bachelor's from Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State, Nigeria. Sayo has previously worked as a teacher in elementary and high schools and later as a content creator for a news website (naijanews.com) in Nigeria.
Research
Her research areas include information diffusion and participation in politics. Specifically, she asks questions relating to the use of social media to influence participation in online and offline protests. She is also interested in inclusion and diversity in STEM organizations (e.g., cyberinfrastructure, engineering, and medicine).
