Lindai Xie is an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education in the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, & Counseling at Texas Tech University. She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where she also earned an M.Ed. in Counselor Education with a concentration in College Counseling and Student Affairs. Prior to joining TTU, Lindai served as a Graduate Assistant and Adjunct Professor at VCU.

Lindai’s research focuses broadly on developing support systems for college students. Her work emphasizes multicultural competence, trauma-informed care, and the ethical integration of emerging technologies, particularly generative artificial intelligence, into education. More specifically, her research includes AI-integrated approaches in education and counseling practices, support for sexual assault survivors, and addressing the unique needs of underrepresented students. Through her research, she aims to strengthen support systems and promote holistic well-being for diverse and underrepresented student populations. Across her work, she uses multiple methodological approaches, including mixed-methods, quantitative, and qualitative methods, to generate comprehensive and meaningful insights.

Lindai collaborates with scholars across multiple universities and disciplines, including computer science, rehabilitation counseling, and media studies. By drawing on these interdisciplinary partnerships, she seeks to generate practical, evidence-based insights that directly inform both educational and counseling practices.

Lindai's clinical work involves providing counseling services to diverse clients with varying statuses and identities, such as international students and graduating engineering students. Her services span personal counseling, career counseling, and academic advising across settings such as the college counseling center, the Global Education Office, and the Office of Student Success.
