Dr. Stephanie Barbre is an assistant professor of practice and the school psychology program director in the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Counseling. Dr. Barbre is a licensed specialist in school psychology (LSSP) and has eight years of practical experience working in public schools. As a practitioner, she evaluated students for suspected disabilities and provided services such as counseling, consultation, and behavior support for students with disabilities in schools across the Lubbock area. Additionally, she has held various leadership roles and is a past-president and lifetime member of her professional state association, the Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP). She is also a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) serves as the coordinator of the rural school psychology interest group and is a member of the professional growth committee. Her experiences as a practicing school psychologist and state leader have influenced her research interests related to school psychology workforce issues and implications for professional practice and student outcomes.
