Application Review Process

Admissions to Honors is highly competitive. Our faculty reviewers use a holistic review process to consider students who apply, factoring in all application materials to arrive at a decision. We take academic metrics seriously, like College-level GPA, grades, and test scores but we are really looking for intellectually curious, socially responsible, impact-making students who are eager to maximize their undergraduate experience in the Honors community.

You are encouraged to apply to Texas Tech and the Honors College simultaneously. Once you click 'Submit' on the application to the university and you have been assigned a TTU ID (a.k.a., R Number), you are welcome to start the Honors College application. You do NOT need to wait until you have received an application decision from the university in order to apply to Honors.

To apply, applicants must have a College-level GPA of at least 3.50. Applicants without a College-level GPA (students in their first semester of college), may still apply but will be waitlisted until final grades for the in-progress term are released.

*Application review takes place on a rolling basis. Honors applicants can expect to be notified of an application deadline around three to four weeks after their application file is complete.
