Undergraduate Certificate in World Music

This Certificate provides practical skills and unique participatory expertise for players and singers interested in the many musics of the world's peoples. In addition to required coursework in world music, ethnomusicology, and world dance, participants have the opportunity to participate in unique and exciting ensembles—Celtic, early music, Balkan, Mariachi, Tango, and even English bagpipes—led by genre experts, and to develop their experience in relevant academic, studio performance, and technology topics. This Certificate is a great complement to the existing SOM degrees in Music Education, Music Composition, Performance, and the Bachelor of Arts in Applied and Commercial Music.
