Upon your undergraduate audition, MM audition or DMA audition to the school of music, you will be placed in your voice studio. Studios are managed and taught by one of the voice faculty and these studios meet once a week for a studio/masterclass. In addition, the Voice Area meets once a week for Voice Area Recital where students have the opportunity to sing for their peers and voice faculty.
For your in-person audition, prepare two selections of your choice in contrasting styles, one of which should be in a language other than English. For your audition, you will have the opportunity to sing one of the pieces in its entirety or portions of both pieces. In addition, there will be a short sight-reading exercise to sing. You will not need to bring an accompanist; an expert accompanist will be provided by the TTU School of Music. The music does not need to be submitted prior to the audition, but please bring clean copies of your music, in a three-ring binder for the pianist to use.
