What Sets Us Apart

Thriving Orchestras

With thriving orchestras, bands, and vernacular music ensembles, TTU harpists have an abundance of chamber and ensemble performance opportunities. Additionally, Lubbock is a central hub in the West Texas panhandle, and regional orchestras such as the Lubbock, Amarillo, Big Springs, and Midland/Odessa Symphonies provide professional performance opportunities.

Program Leader

The TTU harp program is also a leader in preparing the future generation of teachers, with programs like TTU String Project providing hands-on teaching experience. Apart from programs directly affiliated with the University, the TTU harp program has strong relationships with the local public-school music programs and the Lubbock Youth Orchestra, providing further developmental teaching opportunities to TTU students.

Weekly Private Lessons

TTU harp students receive weekly private lessons and studio classes with Dr. Mazzucco. Every semester there are String Area Recitals and Harp studio recitals where they perform solo, harp ensemble, and mixed chamber music. Beyond their musical development, TTU nurtures a beautiful, supportive musical community, where we strive to give all different kinds of students with different kinds of goals a place to belong.
