Our Impact
At the heart of the Friends of Music are the students whose talent and dedication bring music to life in the School of Music. Our community of supporters invest in students through scholarships, academic and professional opportunities, and experiences that nurture their growth as musicians, scholars, and leaders. Every contribution helps our students pursue their education, develop their artistry, and prepare for what comes next.
The impact of this support extends far beyond the School of Music. Our students become educators, performers, composers, scholars, and advocates who carry the transformative power of music into communities around the world. By joining the Friends of Music, you are investing not only in the musical arts at Texas Tech, but in the students who will shape the future of music for generations to come.

2024-2025 Friends of Music Excellence in Graduate Brass Award Recipient
As a Doctor of Musical Arts student at Texas Tech University, I have found tremendous joy in my studies through meaningful performances and research opportunities. Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Music and countless supporters, I have been able to share my passion for music in tangible ways by traveling to perform at national festivals, presenting my research at international conferences, and contributing artistically to the vibrant community here in Lubbock, Texas. Your investment in students like me made these experiences possible, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities this support has provided.
