The Brass Area at Texas Tech University offers a Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree with an emphasis in Music Education, Music Performance, Music Theory, and Music Composition.

Studios

Upon your audition to the school of music, you will be placed in your corresponding instrument/voice studio. Studios are managed and taught by the corresponding instrument/voice professor and these studios meet once a week for a masterclass to discuss pedagogy.  The studios consist of the following instruments:

  • French Horn
  • Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Tuba/Euphonium

Scholarships

In addition to university academic scholarships, the brass area offers
additional scholarships based on audition merit.

Assistantships

TTU offers competitive stipends for Teaching Assistants that are
available to qualifying Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music
students. Additional fellowship and scholarship opportunities are also
possible and may be available for some students.
