IX. Enforcement, Violations and Sanctions

Parking Violations

1. Parking is governed by markers and traffic signs. Parking is permitted only in areas clearly identified for parking.
2. The absence of "No Parking" signs does not imply that parking is allowed. Street parking is prohibited except where signs indicate parking is permitted.
3. All curb ramps on campus are part of accessible routes for disabled persons. Blocking of any ramp is not permitted.

D. The following illegal parking acts may result in a citation being issued:

**Impoundable Offenses

1. **Parking in non-designated areas.
   $30.00
2. License plate not properly installed or visible to driving aisle.
   $15.00
3. **Parking in a fire lane.
   $55.00
4. Failure to remove expired decal(s).
   $25.00
5. **Parking in a no parking or tow away zone.
   $30.00
6. **Parking in service vehicle spaces, service drives, or access drives.
   $25.00
7. **Unauthorized parking in reserved parking spaces.
   $55.00
8. **Obstructing traffic, street, sidewalk, crosswalk, driveway, trash container, building entrance or exit.
   $30.00
9. **Parking overtime in a time limit zone.
   $25.00
10. **Parking a bicycle in violation of these regulations.
    $15.00
11. **Parking a motor vehicle beyond the lines of a parking space.
    $25.00
12. Parking on wrong side of street facing oncoming traffic.
    $25.00
13. **Parking without a valid permission.
    $30.00
14. **Parking a motor vehicle upon any unmarked (including turf) or unimproved ground which has not been designated for parking.
    $80.00
15. **Parking in a space or area designated for persons with disabilities without the proper insignia.
    Minimum $505.00
16. **Blocking an access ramp or curb cut designed to aid persons with disabilities.
    Minimum $505.00
17. **Display or use of a lost, stolen, forged, obstructed, or altered license plate. Such violation may result in the responsible party/parties being referred to the appropriate office for disciplinary action which may include loss of parking  privileges for the remainder of the academic year.
    Up to $200.00
18. **Other parking violations as defined on the face of the citation.
    $25.00
19. Failure to update license plate / transfer permission(s).
    $15.00
20. Failure to pay Pay Station.
    $25.00

E. In accordance with Texas Transportation Code 681.011, fines for violations 15 and 16 are determined
as follows:

    • 3rd Violation: $555 fine
    • 4th Violation: $805 fine
    • 5th Violation: $1,255 fine
