Dr. Andrés Peralta is a passionate and innovative art educator whose research and
art practice lies at the intersection of identity, visual culture, technology, and
posthumanism. With a keen eye for the transformative power of art, Dr. Peralta has
dedicated his career to exploring the multifaceted nature of human identity, advocacy
for formal and informal art practices, and its interaction with the ever-evolving
digital landscape.
Dr. Peralta's research and teaching interests revolve around the intricate relationship
between identity and visual culture. Through his engaging curriculum, he encourages
students to delve into the multifaceted aspects of personal and collective identity,
critically analyzing how visual representations shape our perceptions of ourselves
and the world around us.
His work embraces the liminal space between analog and digital art, exploring the
permeability of human/non-human boundaries, through concepts of the in-between and
showcasing the interplay of the technological and the human. He investigates the
limitations and possibilities of what it means to be human, encouraging a deeper understanding
of the potential of technology in understanding perceptions of self and others.
