18 Hours

Art, as a field of studies, encompasses a number of disciplines and professions related to fine arts practice, the art market, art law and appraisal, art education, new communication technologies, graphic/communication design and advertisement, media archaeology, art management, and the relationship of arts with technology and visual culture in the contemporary world.

A minor in arts supplements students’ major area of concentration by promoting and developing skills such as creative thinking and problem solving, the imaginative use of technology, attention to details, visual analysis and research skills, community engagement, analytical visual thinking, and innovative research methods.

Exposure to the arts and the potentializing of the skills that these disciplines foster broadens the research spectrum and professional prospects of the students pursuing minors in the School of Art.
