Reading, writing, artmaking and field trips bring sustainability to the imagination of the art classroom.  Students study EcoArt and Solar Punk movements. Workshops on drawing, painting, mixed media and Engaged Research Methods get students started on independent work in any media or focus.

BA art degree - art enviroment sustainability

Students interested in pursuing BA Track with a focus on art and sustainability can elect studio art courses and courses from the TTU Sustainability Minor. Art courses offer hands on studio development in Drawing, Ceramics, Jewelry Metalsmith and Design, Painting, Photo and Printmaking.

Flower Power Energy Meets Art

School of Art partners with Flower Power Energy Mets Art Corporation to inspire artwork that focuses on energy through compositional techniques that build on principles of positive/negative space.  

Ogallala Commons

School of Art developed and delivers Drawing Playa Wetland workshops for Ogallala Commons, a non-profit leadership group that offers field day events to experience playa wetlands and learn about the movement to restoration playa wetlands which are crucial to recharging the rapidly depleting Ogallala aquifer. 

Annual Lubbock Art Festival

Learn how to show and sell your artwork though the Lubbock Arts Alliance Emerging Artist Program. This year-long program can be applied toward Independent Study or Internship credits.

Garden Arts Center

Garden Arts Center offers opportunities for students to exhibit artwork and practice delivering art and conservation workshops to community groups and exhibit artworks.
