Meet the School of Art Director

Ghislaine Fremaux began her work as Interim Director of the School of Art in December 2023. Since joining the TTU faculty in August 2014, she has taught all levels of painting, as well as introductory and advanced drawing courses, and seminars offered to first-year MFA students. Before her current appointment, she served as the Area Coordinator of Painting (2019 – 2023), MFA Coordinator (2020 – 2022), and Associate Director of Academic Affairs (2022 – 2023).

Ghi came to TTU after a two-year visiting professorship at Penn State University (2012 – 2014), following the completion of her graduate work there in 2012. As a painter and portraitist, she is interested in how people understand and experience their own embodiment, particularly through processes of aging, grief, and medical treatment.

As Interim Director, Ghi is stewarding the mission and vision of the School of Art, and laying the groundwork for our bright future ahead.
