English as a Second Language

Why ESL?

There are about 1.5 billion speakers of English worldwide and English serves as the primary mode of communication for speakers of many languages in many fields. Graduate students at TTU can take ESL classes in pursuit of the Graduate Certificate in English Language for Academic and Professional Communication or in pursuit of the approval to teach for international teaching assistants. Any community member, including undergraduate TTU students or non-TTU students, may take our English in the Evenings classes. People who advance their English strengthen their opportunities for employment and advancement in every industry in the United States and abroad.
