Why Russian?

There are approximately 258 million speakers of Russian around the globe. Russian has been identified as a "critical language" by the U.S. government. Study of the Russian language complements an expertise in business, science, political science, history, English or other languages, engineering, mathematics, and/or music. Our program offers Russian courses that satisfy the TTU Foreign Language requirement as well as courses in Russian culture and literature taught in English, all of which satisfy the Arts and Sciences Language and Philosophy requirement. Our program offers minors (Russian or Russian Language and Area Studies) or a major (B.A. in Languages & Cultures – Russian Language and Area Studies).
