Mandarin Chinese Program

Why Mandarin Chinese?

The U.S. Government defines Mandarin Chinese as a “critical language” as it is the most widely-spoken language in the world with over a billion speakers. As Chinese business continues to expand internationally, the demand to know Mandarin Chinese will continue to grow. According to forbes.com, in 2020 China was again the United States' top trade partner. Students may take Mandarin Chinese courses in the areas of business, translation, cinema, culture, literature, and classical Chinese. We offer a minor and B.A. in Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Mandarin Chinese.
