Why Spanish?

There are approximately 543 million native Spanish speakers worldwide. It is the second most widely spoken language in the United States. Knowing Spanish is in high demand, and applicable to a wide range of professions such as business, teaching, translation and interpretation, community advocacy, bilingual medical professions, and international diplomacy. Our program offers a minor or major and the Spanish program collaborates with the College of Education for teacher certification in Spanish. Spanish Majors may concentrate in Literature and Cultures, Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish in Global Contexts, and Spanish for the Professions. Students at TTU can major or minor in Spanish.
