Mr. Jesse Bulluck was nominated for the 2023-2025 UCEA Jackson Scholars by the TTU College of Education faculty and selected by the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) as a Jackson Scholar recipient. Mr. Bulluck is a doctoral student in the TTU Educational Leadership (EDLD) Policy PhD program and has been actively engaged in doctoral coursework, student policy research opportunities, and countless professional development seminars and programs. As a student in the Policy Ph.D. in Educational Leadership Policy program, Jesse Bullock has been extremely active both in coursework and in his research investigating issues of race, community, and gender in education, and has just completed a pilot study examining the “Lives, Careers, and Impact of Black Male Educators”. During his time in the program, Mr. Bulluck has demonstrated an ability to focus on key educational policy issues related to race, ethnicity, gender, and education, while also interacting with several notable professionals in the field. The Jackson Scholars Network will provide Mr. Bulluck with the opportunities and access to the broader professional community that will allow him to flourish as a promising doctoral student of color. Mr. Bullock's professional and personal experiences as a person of color within both the legal and education sectors allow him to bring an understanding to educational issues from multiple perspectives, and for this reason he was nominated and selected as a Jackson Scholar.
