The Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) announces the Request for Proposals for the FY 2020 Water Resources Research Act Program Aquatic Invasive Species Competitive Grants Program by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the National Institutes for Water Resources.

Proposals are requested on the topics addressing focusing on water problems and issues of a regional or interstate nature beyond those of concern only to a single State. Proposals must address one of the three high priority research areas listed in the RFP, which are focused on the Upper Mississippi River basin. Any investigator at an institution of higher learning is eligible to apply. Projects will only be awarded if funds are appropriated to the USGS to support the program.

Proposals may be for projects of 1 to 3 years in duration and may request up to $250,000 in federal funds and require a 1:1 match. Proposals in PDF format and budget forms must be emailed to the TWRI Director Dr. John Tracy at John.Tracy@ag.tamu.edu and Grant Administrator Danielle Kalisek at Danielle.Kalisek@ag.tamu.edu by 5 p.m., June 3, 2020 to allow adequate time for TWRI to compile and submit that information via grants.gov by the June 11 deadline for institutes. Only proposals submitted to TWRI by June 3 will be transmitted to the National Grants Competition Proposal Peer Review Panel.

A copy of the RFP is available on the TWRI website. Additional information about research priorities, proposal content, format and review process are available in the RFP.

Technical questions can be directed to Dr. Tracy at John.Tracy@ag.tamu.edu. Questions regarding the proposal submission process can be directed to Danielle Kalisek at Danielle.kalisek@ag.tamu.edu.
