George W. McCleskey Professorship in Water Conservation Endowment

The George W. McCleskey Professorship was established through the generous support of Louis Beecherl Jr. of the Bosque Foundation, and other donors, including The CH Foundation. This professorship is named in honor of George W. McCleskey, a highly respected lawyer from Lubbock who made significant contributions to the fields of water rights and conservation. The primary goal of this professorship is to promote excellence in water law by attracting nationally recognized scholars who can conduct valuable research in this area.

Professor Frank F. Skillern, a distinguished faculty member and a renowned authority in the realms of water law and environmental law, was the inaugural holder of the George W. McCleskey Professorship. Professor Amy Hardberger '05 currently holds this professorship. Professor Hardberger also serves as the director of the Center for Water Law and Policy and brings extensive expertise in matters related to water and environmental law.
