Types of Aid

Texas Tech University offers a variety of educational loan options for students to assist with educational expenses. Students may select loans offered by the State of Texas, the federal government, or private education loans.

Federal Direct Loan Program

The Federal Direct Loan Program offers low interest rate loans
(subsidized or unsubsidized) directly from the Department of Education.

Federal Direct PLUS Loan

The Federal Direct PLUS Loan for Graduate/Professional Students (PLUS) provides a borrowing option for graduate and professional students.

College Access Loan (Texas Resident)

The College Access Loan Program provides alternative educational loans to Texas students who are unable to meet the cost of attendance.

Private Education Loan

Private education loans are designed to assist you in meeting the cost of attendance that is not met by other types of financial assistance or personal resources, and should be considered after all available federal and state financial aid options have been exhausted.

Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG)

The Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) is a program administered by the State of Texas to provide assistance to students with financial need, seeking a first bachelor's degree, graduate degree or professional degree.
