Charles P. Bubany has earned great admiration from his students, former students, and colleagues throughout his tenure at the Law School. Professor Bubany has left an indelible mark since he joined the faculty in 1971. His expertise spans various subjects, including criminal law, criminal procedure, and Texas criminal procedure.
From 1996 to his retirement from full-time teaching in 2003, Professor Bubany held the prestigious George Herman Mahon Professor of Law title. His numerous published works have made significant contributions to the legal community. He has received multiple awards, including the Outstanding Law Professor Award six times. Furthermore, Professor Bubany served as the faculty advisor for the Board of Barristers for twenty years and coached numerous national advocacy teams, including the 1987 ABA Client Counseling Team, which won both the national and international championships.
To honor his remarkable 50-year teaching legacy, alumni, colleagues, and family members joined together to establish the Charles P. Bubany Endowed Professorship. It is a fitting tribute to his outstanding career and impact on Texas Tech Law.
