After 35 years of legal practice and 30 years as Chair of the Employee Benefits Practice Group of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP in Dallas, Suzan retired in 2008 and has since focused attention on volunteer service for non-profit and religious organizations. 
 
Suzan Fenner '71 received a B.A. from Texas Technological College and a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law. 
 
Suzan joined the Board of Trustees of the Texas Tech Law School Foundation in 2012 and has chaired the Governance Committee of the Foundation since its formation in 2015.  She joined the Foundation Board to give back to her alma mater, because the law school developed many skills she used in her practice and her work for nonprofit organizations.  
 
Suzan has been married to Peter Fenner for 40 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.
