Jessica Aycock is the Associate Director of Academic Success Programs. In this role, she provides comprehensive academic support to students at all levels, helping them achieve their educational and professional goals in the legal field.
Before joining the School of Law, Associate Director Aycock served as an Assistant District Attorney in County Court at Law Number 1 at the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney's Office. During her time there, she gained experience in trial advocacy and criminal prosecution. Prior to her role at the DA's office, she worked as a student attorney for the Innocence Project of Texas, enhancing her legal skills and commitment to justice.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from Sam Houston State University and earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law, specializing in Criminal Law and Innocence.
Associate Director Aycock's research focuses on criminal law, the ethical prosecution
and defense of individuals, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in
the legal profession. While in law school, she published a notable article advocating
for legislative reforms to prevent the prosecution of human trafficking victims. She
remains dedicated to advancing scholarship in criminal law and AI.
She is admitted to practice law in Texas and New Mexico.
