David D. Perlmutter, Ph.D., professor and dean of the Texas Tech University College of Media & Communication, was inducted as president of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) on Aug. 9 at the annual AEJMC conference in Toronto.
Nick Bowman, an associate professor of journalism and creative media industries in Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication, received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to study augmented and virtual reality tools. This award will put Texas Tech and the College of Media & Communication at the forefront of this technology as it is used for information, persuasion and entertainment.
With tremendous support from CoMC faculty and the student officers of the former TechPR group, the Texas Tech PRSSA chapter has found its new home in CoMC. The PRSSA, or the Public Relations Student Society of America, is the student chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the non-profit trade organization for industry professionals and educators with more than 30,000 members around the world.
