Jules Andres

Jules Andres earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a news editorial emphasis in 1993 from the College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University. She currently is the director of corporate communications at Mattel, a publicly-owned $7 billion consumer goods company.

Andres has award-winning experience in corporate communications, executive voice, corporate responsibility, digital storytelling, reputation, and issues management for Mattel Inc. in El Segundo, Calif., where she has worked since 2002. She serves as external spokesperson on corporate matters, including corporate brand, issues management, sustainability/environmental progress, social impact/philanthropy, manufacturing, financial, litigation and product issues.

She began her career in Fort Worth, Texas, where she worked in business development at Freese & Nichols Inc., an engineering firm, and as an associate creative director for PHPR Inc., a boutique communications firm. Prior to joining Mattel she spent time at two of the top global PR agencies, Edelman and BSMG Worldwide (now Weber Shandwick).

She has placed stories and worked in media relations in many print, broadcast and digital media outlets, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Fortune, Forbes, Smart Money, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, ABC World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News, NPR, Good Morning America and the Today Show, among dozens of others.

She has won numerous awards for crisis communications, speech and editorial writing, newsletters, annual report design and digital communications, including a Silver Sabre and several PRSA awards, as well as ARC and Vision awards. In 2008, PR News named her a finalist as Spokesperson of the Year. Andres was honored as a Texas Tech University Outstanding Alumni in 2013.
