Anne and Bill Fisher Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Eligibility: Awards is for students attending Texas Tech who were born outside of the United States, have a keen interest in international affairs, and who are fluent in at least two languages. Undergraduate and graduate students who have at least a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and who have lived a minimum of five years outside of the United States are eligible.
Timing: The deadline for applications is 1 March for the following Fall Semester.
The Ann and Bill Fisher Memorial Scholarship will be announced once a year, in the Spring Semester for the following Fall Term. It may not be offered during years when sufficiently meritorious candidates are not proposed.
Application procedure: Students should nominate themselves, providing as a single PDF file to:
- A cover sheet giving name of scholarship, student name, address, telephone number, email, R#, major field of study, and names and contact information of two recommenders (see below)
- Official transcripts
- A 1-2 page, double-spaced essay that discusses (a) interest in international affairs; (b) academic and/or career objectives; and (c) country of origin and experience living outside of the United States.
- Completed applications should be sent to: email@example.com
- Two letters of recommendation should be sent directly by the recommender to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Award: The award(s) of up to $1000 each will announced prior to the end of the Spring term. It will be disbursed as a scholarship, paying tuition and fees first, with any remaining balance issued to the student by Student Business Services (SBS). In addition, this award is expected to waive out-of-state tuition for the award year and does not require any service to the University.
